My most popular crochet scarf set design is the Crochet Heavenly Blessing Scarf Set.  It comes with: Scarf, hat, fingerless or flip mittens, boot cuffs, coin purse, and a water bottle holder. You may not be as familiar with some of my older crochet designs. So, I wanted to list them here for you to look at. I love them all!

This crochet scarf set is a lot of fun to make. The Scarf is gender-neutral, and the crochet stitch creates a thicker/warmer scarf to wear! It is very quick and easy to make and the perfect beginner crocheter pattern.

I used this crochet stitch pattern to make “Mandy’s Crochet Infinity Scarf” Set:

People absolutely loved this crochet stitch when I came out with it. You can use this crochet stitch to make a crochet scarf, matching hat, flip mittens, and boot cuffs. I also used this crochet stitch to make a crochet baby blanket.

I had a lot of fun making these crochet hats. I called them “A Touch of Cranberry Delight” crochet hats:

These are my favorite gender-neutral crochet ribbed winter hats! The crochet stitch creates a thicker/warmer texture. I made one for my male family member and he loved it!!!  These fun video tutorials will show you how to make the crochet ribs, and then you can make as many or as little as you want for your own unique crochet winter hat!

You could also make these crochet hats into ponytail hats!

I made this set for a family member, and I loved how it looked on the child!! This yarn was so much fun to work with!!

I also show how to make the attached crochet mittens:

If you want to make the matching crochet child braided cable hat, here is the video tutorial:

I first saw this crochet hat on the “This is Us” TV series, and I thought that it was adorable! I wanted to make my own colorful one, and it turned out gorgeous! You can make a matching scarf with this crochet technique. If you would like to check it out, here is the video tutorial:

Now this one is a lot of fun if you need a quick and easy crochet pattern. I made this set for a charity, and it was a lot of fun. You can make the crochet scarf, adult/baby hat, and mittens. It is a simple, but fun crochet pattern that is so quick and easy to make in a jiffy!

I hope that you have enjoyed my list of fun crochet winter scarf sets!

My very first YouTube video tutorial was for my Crochet Dress Potholder In November 2014 and people loved it!! At the time, I had just gotten back into crocheting. I met a very nice lady at one of my craft tables who loved my crochet work. She commissioned me to crochet items for her. One of the very first items that she wanted me to make for her, was one of these crochet dress potholders.  I had so much fun making it, that I decided to make it my first video tutorial. This was around the time that I was reading “Woman’s Day” magazine, and there was an article about making YouTube video tutorials.

The next crochet potholder dress that I wanted to design was for Easter. I wanted to make a design set that included the crochet dress potholder/hot pad, towel topper, and refrigerator magnet.  Here is the direct link, if you would like to make it: Crochet Easy and Beautiful Vintage Dress Towel Topper Set.  There is no written pattern for this yet.

In March 2015, this was when Anne messaged me.  She told me that she loved my crochet potholder dresses, and she wanted me to design one with the large loop at the top of the dress for hanging. You will love the idea that I had to make the large loop! Here is the direct link, if you would like to make these: Crochet Vintage Granny Easy Dress Hot pad Potholder Anne’s Style DIY Tutorial. There is no written pattern for these yet.

Anne had a Pinterest page dedicated to only crochet potholder dresses and all of the different designs. She loved the new crochet dress design that I made for her.

The next design that I made had the shells on the sleeves. When I made it, I thought that it would make a wonderful gift to go with a wine bottle, or a Non-alcoholic bottle, as a hostess gift. People loved it! Eventually, I was asked multiple times for a PDF written pattern. I finally decided to write the pattern when I was messaged by CrochetLoverTX. She said that she wanted to make one of these dresses for her ailing mother on Mother’s Day. CrochetLoverTX was able to follow along with the written pattern and told me that she was able to make one for her mother.  If you would like to make it too, here is the direct YouTube video tutorial link: Crochet Wine Vintage Dress Towel Topper Set

The written pattern includes how to make the crochet dress towel topper. Here is the direct Ravelry link for the PDF written pattern: Crochet Wine Dress Potholder PDF Written Pattern

I love everything about country cottages! So the next adorable dress that I designed was named “Crochet Sunshine Cottage Vintage Potholder Dress Set.” It included the potholder dress, dress towel topper, and the little dress refrigerator magnet. I still have the little dress refrigerator magnet on my dishwasher. The magnet is still holding strong! I designed the armhole shells a little differently on this dress. Now, Anne approached me again, but this time she asked me if I could design a crochet ripple pattern dress for her. I thought it would be fun to show how to color change with the ripple design too. So, I came up with my Crochet Fiesta Ripple Potholder Dress, and it became my favorite go-to crochet potholder dress for a very long time.  I even made the crochet Fiesta Ripple Dresses for my crochet Easter Rabbits. Eventually, I was asked to write the pattern for this style of dress. Now, there is a written pattern available. CrochetLoverTX contacted me again via Ravelry, and she asked me if I could write the pattern for the crochet dress with the flared bottom. I hadn’t made this crochet dress since I first made the video tutorial for it years ago.  I decided to re-make the YouTube video tutorial for this crochet ripple potholder dress with the flared bottom because it was a more complicated ripple design.  In the original YouTube video tutorial, I didn’t give stitch counts and even I had to double-check my work for a correct st count. My new and improved YouTube video tutorial gives stitch counts to help you create this beautiful ripple design more easily. There are 2 different crochet techniques that you will learn with this video tutorial and/or written pattern:  How to create the square neck and a different ripple design that gives a wider, more flared, bottom portion for the dress. If you would like to make this style of dress, here is the direct YouTube video tutorial link: Helenmay Crochet Vintage Hotpad Potholder Dress With Flared Bottom DIY Video Tutorial

Most of you know that I take crochet requests from my Helenmay Crochet Special Donor Members. One of my Special Donor Members, Julie Garcia, requested a crochet Donkey. I had completed a crochet donkey a long time ago for a family member. So, I had to dust off the crochet pattern that I designed in the past to make my newest crochet donkey design. I made some modifications to the original design, and I absolutely love how my crochet donkeys turned out!! They are just too adorable! Thank you Julie for this wonderful Crochet request!

My family member, that originally requested that I make a crochet donkey for their friend, has 2 donkeys!

IMG_4583.jpg

“Sugar” is on the left and “Spike” is on the right in the picture above. Here is their story:

In the picture are “Sugar” and “Spike.” My family members adopted them, and here is what they told me: “These guys were adopted from the Humane Society of Fort Worth in 2011. They were with 18 other donkeys roaming wild in Johnson County (We had a drought that year and people who could not afford hay or to water their pastures abandoned many livestock that year). These were the last 2 to be adopted. Had I not adopted them they would have been sent to the glue factory in Oklahoma. Sugar and Spike love oats, apples, and carrots for treats. Every once in a while they get some bread or even a sugar cookie! Donkeys kill snakes and keep coyotes away! Plus they are excellent alarm systems. They bray (like a dog barking) and let me know when someone or something out of the ordinary is in my yard. Mine get along with my dogs.”
I love it!! Sugar and Spike get a lot of love!!!!! They are so smart too!!”

Most of you know that I take crochet requests from my Helenmay Crochet Special Donor Members. One of my Special Donor Members, Brenda Butler, requested a Crochet Jack Russell Terrier Dog. This is the first crochet dog that I used craft wire in the ears, and I absolutely loved it!!! My husband had fun rearranging the ears too..lol.. If you want the same craft wire that I used, here are some affiliate links for you:

61YNnCrxZJL.jpg

I love the pink colored craft wire because it blends in with the inner pink color of the ear, but this affiliate link has different colors to choose from. Click on the picture above, or here to go directly to the PRIME link.

I always advise CAUTION if using craft wire in any of my amigurumi, because it is a potential danger. I never recommend the craft wire if you are making the crochet amigurumi for small children.  If you are going to make the ears using craft wire, then I recommend using floral tape after you coil the craft wire back on itself. It helps prevent the coiled craft wire ends from protruding out of the yarn. It works perfectly! I was ecstatic when I found the white colored floral tape!! I think that it blends in better. Click the above picture, or here, to go directly to the affiliate link. The prime link has different colors to choose from.

For this particular crochet dog, you are going to need something in the ears to keep them from flopping around. I haven’t tried it yet, but for those of you that want to make this crochet dog for smaller children, you may want to try chenille stems. If you try it, please share pictures with me! I would love to see how it turned out!
